World-Wide Web

The World Wide Web is probably the largest information system in the world. Millions of resources, ranging from textual documents or pictures to complete interactive movies, are being made available from servers all over the planet. It will be clear that such a large system is quite complex and relies on a large number of components.

There are a number of problems with regards to the WWW, ranging from simple issues like how to find a particular resource to international disputes on the applicability of national laws or the jurisdiction over certain actions performed using the WWW.
